Palacio Marques de Prado Ameno - 4 star - Old Havana

The most recently opened hotel in Old Havana, close to both
Cathedral Square and Armas Square, the old mansion of Marquises of Prado Ameno
appears again, showing its splendor as in the old times. Located,
just off of Obispo Street, the main artery of the historical center, the large
colonial house recreates the typical Cuban aristocratic house of beginning of
the 19th century.
In this house the famous black poet Juan Francisco Manzano, served as slave to
the Marquises of Prado Ameno family and gained his freedom thanks to the
negotiations of several personalities of the time, like Domingo del Monte and
Jose de la Luz y Caballeros.
The intimacy (just 16 rooms), peacefulness, and preservation of the original
arches, combined with the privacy and the freshness of the patio as well as the
sobriety of its decoration, invites to rest in a cozy atmosphere.
