Lake Porvenir and Lake Munoz.
From the Florida Hotel we do duck, quail and dove hunting as well as bass fishing at Lakes Porvenir and Munoz. This small hotel (about 77 rooms), air-conditioned, nice restaurant, bar, gift shop, disco and others is your home away from home while fishing and hunting in the Province of Camaguey. Some of our very best bass fishing came from this lake. I recall my first day there, we landed 9 bass over 10 pounds. Not bad! One other day, I send our pro Steve Shoulders and our head guide Fello Echemandia to Lake Porvenir to check it out. They landed over 400 bass that day, but most were small. This was before the lake had matured and once it did....it was a great big bass lake. It is a lake that gets muddy during the rainy season, so it is best to go between November and the end of May.
