This hotel is called El Viejo y El Mar in Spanish.  It is a six story hotel right on the beach on the western edge of Havana at the fabulous Marina Hemingway.  It is probably the most Americanized hotel in all of Cuba.  Why?  Because the marina has room for as many as 500 boats and there are always 40-80 American boats parked there.  Some of these American yachters and sailors stay 4-6 months at a time.  The hotel has 140 rooms, 4 suites and at least 46 rooms known as pool side cabanas.  This is very much an Ernest Hemingway experience with Papa's Restaurant for steak and lobster, Gregorio's bar, named after his recently deceased fishing guide and Mena's Buffet Restaurant named after his grand daughter who was not a movie star.  The best Italian food in Cuba is also found on the premises as well as the second hottest nightclub in Cuba.  This is a great place for those Americans interested in fishing, scuba diving and other outdoor sports.
