| Varadero Beach. There simply is no other place on earth like it.
Many knowledgeable people refer to Varadero Beach in Cuba as the "most beautiful beach in the world." Why? Because it is! It is 36 kilometers of sand that looks and feels like white powdered sugar. Some of the most beautiful hotels in the world have been built recently by hotel chains like Sol Melia, Breezes, and Sandals. Others are currently under construction. In total there are more than 45 hotels (17,000 hotel rooms) on Varadero Beach which is known as the largest tourist resort in the Caribbean. You can find everything from 5 star luxury hotels to a place where you can pitch your tent (away from the hotels). Americans can stay in the best hotel in Varadero (Melia Las Americas) for one week for a price as low as $724 (double occupancy) or $1004 (single occupancy) if you are traveling alone. The price includes airfare from Cancun, 7 nights at Melia Las Americas, breakfast each day and transfers from the airport to the hotel and back. The prices are similar from Nassau! Of course there are less expensive places to stay like the Acuazul where we can offer a week from Cancun for as low as $388 (double occupancy) and for a person traveling alone as low as $451. Prices vary by the seasons with the higher prices from December thru April and then again in July and August. We urge all Americans to reserve as early as possible or the possibility of getting left out is real! Last season, most major hotels in both Varadero and Havana were sold out during the prime season. This year, 300,000 more tourists are expected! Varadero has many optional things to do. For example: There are 3 marinas where one can go fishing for billfish; there is scuba diving where you can get all kinds of plans from 1 dive to 10. You can even take a scuba diving course and get certified for less than $400; you can swim with the dolphins; you can visit the submarine park, an incredible place in a glass bottomed boat, view an underwater submarine, a sunken frigate, Fidel's private yacht and even a passenger plane, you can go yachting or rent a cabin cruiser for as little as $750 for a day; you can even go sky diving. You can play golf at the newly opened Varadero Golf Club, you can go bowling, biking, play billiards, rent a moped, ride a horse or go camping. There are great restaurants with gourmet foods or you can have a hamburger or a pizza. Expect to pay about $12 for chicken, $14 for a steak, $18 for jumbo shrimp or $25 for lobster tail. There are art galleries, open air theaters and cinemas. The nightlife is incredible with both red hot discos and cabaret's with outstanding floor shows. There are many other places to visit and you can rent a car, take a bus, go by train or some even hitchhike (it is safe in Cuba). |
| The end of the trade and travel embargo was referred to as "imminent" by one of the Cuban American Congressmen recently. The Pope has called for an end of the embargo. The United Nations vote year after year to end it, and almost no one in the world still favors this out of date, insane embargo other than a hand full of right-wing Cuban Americans. Should an American worry about going to Cuba? Not when you travel with us. We have been going to Cuba for more than 27 years and not one of our clients has ever had any problems with the U.S. government.
